Akande, however, won his Polling Unit 12, Ward 4, in the Atogbade area of Ila-Orangun, polling 181 votes whilst Accord received 121 votes.

Former Osun State governor and founding Interim National Chairman of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has lost his Ila Local Government Area to the incumbent governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke.
This was revealed by the collation officer for the local government whilst announcing the results of the ongoing governorship election in the state.
According to the INEC official, Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, emerged victorious in Ila LGA with 16,211 votes, whilst his closest challenger and candidate of the APC, Bola Oyebamiji, received 12,934 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Najeem Salaam, came a distant third in the local government, polling just 259 votes.
Earlier, Akande won his Polling Unit 12, Ward 4, in the Atogbade area of Ila-Orangun, after the APC polled 181 votes whilst Accord received 121 votes.
A total of 15 political parties are on the ballot in the off-cycle gubernatorial election, with incumbent Governor Adeleke seeking a fresh mandate.
Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), announced their withdrawal prior to the contest.
