BREAKING: INEC uploads 95.51% of Osun election results on IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 95.51 per cent of expected results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing portal, with collation now in its final stages.
Checks by TheNiche on the INEC Results Viewing Portal as at 1:07:02 am on Sunday, August 16, show that a total 3,594 polling unit results have been uploaded out of an expected 3,763.
Data from the portal showed the last upload was recorded at 1:07:02 am on Sunday from polling unit 29/03/05/008 as collation continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election against Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress and other candidates.
The poll is being closely monitored by voters and election observers on the IReV platform, which INEC introduced to enhance transparency in result collation by allowing polling unit-level results to be viewed in real time.
The commission’s Result Stats window on the portal showed the figures updating steadily as fresh uploads arrived from polling units, with the platform allowing users to refresh the page for the latest numbers.
INEC commenced the uploading of the results shortly after Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, raised concerns over the delay.
Davido had earlier called on INEC to provide timely updates and ensure transparency in the conduct and collation of the election results.
In a series of posts on his X account on Saturday, the singer questioned why no result had been uploaded to the IReV portal as of 2:33 p.m.
“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.
He also urged voters to remain at their polling units until officials uploaded their results to the portal.
“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” Davido said.
The IReV portal allows voters and other stakeholders to view polling unit results uploaded by INEC after voting and counting at the various polling units.
