The BBNaija finalist said her short stay at the University of Lagos, was born out of a sexual assault experience she had, while on the campus.

Angel made the disclosure during a recent interview with popular media personality, Taymesan.

According to the 22-year-old, the incident took a toll on her and it took her a while to come to terms with what happened, as she struggled to put the experience behind her.

She said, “I was in UNILAG for only two weeks. I struggled so much for those two weeks because when I got into UNILAG was my first sexual assault experience.

“After that experience happened, I can remember just moving through it and pretending like it never happened.

“It affected my school life so much. I always blamed it on not knowing what to do in UNILAG when actually, I’ve always been fully aware of what I wanted to do.”

Angel, went on to say the sexual assault experienced was so traumatic for her that it made her lose focus at school. She also said she kept it away from her grandma whom she grew up with.

“I knew what I wanted to do but I didn’t just do that because I had experienced something so traumatic and I didn’t speak to anybody about it, especially not my granny because I had so much shame,” Angel added.

She noted that she initially wanted to become a gynaecologist but shifted focus to English Language after she won several Spelling Bees and boosted her writing skills.

She also said her family did not know she had left school until her mum became curious and asked.

The reality star, however, said that when she eventually opened up to her mother that she dropped out of school, she kept the details of what led to it to herself.

She said, “Nobody knew I was out of school until my mum had asked and I was like, ‘let me finally be out with it’.

“When I told her that and she asked me why, I obviously did not tell her what happened. I just told her I didn’t think I was doing the right course.

“Then she enrolled me in a foundational programme in the UK, which I dropped out from too.”

Angel narrated that she dropped out of the UK school because she was undecided about what she wanted to do in life at that point.
