Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittelstädt has admitted that he and his teammates will have to be at their best when they face Galatasaray on Tuesday in a UEFA Champions League clash, because the Turkish club’s striker, Victor Osimhen, is one of the finest strikers in world football.

The German left-back sounded the note of warning on Monday during his pre-match press conference ahead of the encounter.

Mittelstädt went on to acknowledge the threat posed by the Nigerian forward, praising his consistency, attacking quality, and impressive performances over the past few seasons.

Osimhen has enjoyed an outstanding start to the current campaign, registering 10 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.

This impressive run for the Süper Lig giants includes a goal against his former club Lille in their last Champions League fixture.

Although the Super Eagles striker received treatment during Galatasaray’s most recent league fixture, he is expected to be available for the encounter against Stuttgart.

Speaking to journalists, Mittelstädt warned his teammates about Galatasaray’s attacking strength, particularly the danger posed by Osimhen.

He said, “We prepared for Galatasaray. We know that they are very good defensively but also have exceptional players in attack, like Osimhen, who is very dangerous.

”He has shown over the last few years that he is perhaps one of the best strikers in the world. Galatasaray have not only him in attack but have brought in many good players including international stars, and we also have good players in defence.”

He, however, noted that they know the European encounter will be tough, adding that they are “well prepared”.

”We know that it will demand everything from us, but I know we will go into the game well prepared,” Mittelstädt further said.
