Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, friends, bloggers and social media users of his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, to give her space to focus on her recovery amid their ongoing marital dispute.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement posted on his social media page on Monday, expressing concern over Daniels’ well-being and the circulation of what he described as false information about her health and personal life.

He said the actress needed public support and understanding, adding that their two children also deserved to see their mother given the necessary encouragement to recover.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space.

“I make this appeal not just for her sake, but also for the sake of the kids, who are very well cared for and deserve to see their mother supported, loved and given every opportunity to get better,” he said.

The lawmaker said Daniels had faced challenges that many people might not fully understand, urging the public to approach her situation with compassion instead of criticism.

“Regardless of the difficulties we have faced, her well-being has always mattered to me. It is, in fact, the very concern that brought much of our private situation into the public domain,” he said.

Nwoko also expressed concern over the circulation of fake reports about the actress, particularly fabricated announcements of her death and misleading publications about her health.

“I am particularly concerned about the circulation of false and disturbing reports about her, including fabricated death announcements, misleading stories and other hurtful content. These things are not harmless social media engagement,” he said.

He warned that he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against individuals responsible for spreading false information about Daniels.

“Let me make this very clear: I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he stated.

According to the senator, the publications were being documented, while those found culpable would be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels.

Nwoko’s statement comes amid the highly publicised marital crisis between him and Daniels, which became public in October 2025.

The senator, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, married the actress in 2019, and their union produced two sons.

Their marital disagreement subsequently played out on social media, with both parties making allegations and counter-allegations over the circumstances surrounding their relationship.

Daniels had accused Nwoko of abusive and controlling behaviour, claims which the lawmaker denied.

Nwoko, on his part, blamed their marital problems on alleged substance abuse by the actress, an allegation Daniels also disputed.

On October 10, 2026, Daniels marked her birthday by sharing a video on social media in which she opened up about health challenges that had affected her mobility and kept her away from social media.

In the video, the actress recounted experiencing severe pain and difficulty walking following what initially appeared to be a minor health problem.

She also expressed appreciation for the improvement in her condition.

Referring to the birthday video in his latest statement, Nwoko said it offered the public an insight into the difficulties the actress had been facing.

He consequently appealed to the public to allow Daniels to concentrate on her recovery without exposing her to further criticism, speculation or emotional distress.

However, the senator did not announce any reconciliation with the actress in the statement.
