World Athletics Champs 2025: Yabatech to host National Trials for Nigeria’s elite, other athletes

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has invited all athletics stakeholders to attend the National Trials from the 1st to 3rd August, 2025, at Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex in Lagos.
Under the leadership of Chief Tonobok Okowa, the Federation Executive Board said it is delighted to announce that AFN has finalized arrangements for the National Trials and appreciates the patience of stakeholders.
As disclosed in a press statement signed by the scribe of the Federation Israel Iwang and made available to newsmen, the primary objective of the Trial is to select athletes to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan, Islamic Games, and improve National Records
The statement also indicated that the Federation would provide accommodation for athletes who have met the qualifying standards during the current athletics season 2025.
The Events Schedule includes athlete arrival on July 31st, 2025, competition from August 1st-3rd, and departure on Monday, August 4th, 2025.
