Anyaoku urges govt at all levels to unify, support youth talents in football

Elder statesman and former scribe of the Commonwealth of Nations Chief Emeka Anyaoku has urged the government at all levels to unify the nation through talented Youth empowerment in football.
Chief Anyaoku was speaking during the closing ceremony of Emeka Anyaoku under-16 soccer competition that ended at the weekend in Lagos.
After witnessing the display of soccer artistry by teams that played the finals, Chief Emeka Anyaoku advised the government to spare no effort in providing resources, sports infrastructure that would check laziness, lift and sustain the Youth football talents.
“I so much believe that with the support of government at all levels, our Nation Nigeria would be more unified when the youth are supported and kept busy. They are the unity Nigeria crave for now and in the future. Today’s support would ensure a sustainable future for all of us, football unifies us more”.
The inter-state under 16 final match was between the Achiever FC of Kwara state versus Ikosi boys of Ogun.
The highly entertaining soccer duel saw both teams draw level at the end of 90 minutes and the resultant penalty shoot out was in favour of Ikosi boys that scored 10 penalty goals, their opponents Achiever FC scored 9 goals.
The gold plated giant trophy went to Ikosi boys including cash prizes which also went to Achiever FC as the runners up.
The encounter witnessed by supporters of both teams, Captains of industries, dignitaries across Lagos expressed joy for talents on display and praised Chief Emeka Anyaoku for sustaining the sponsorship of the competition for 18 years
