Former Barcelona midfielder, Rivaldo Vítor Borba Ferreira, known simply as Rivaldo, has wadded into the 18th birthday celebration of the La Liga club’s young superstar, Lamine Yamal, saying it was “annoyingly” and “sad”.
The 53-year-old made his feelings known recently while reacting to the controversy that trailed the lavished birthday party.
Yamal reportedly hired people with dwarfism for entertainment during the party, drawing wide criticism for his actions.

The BBC later reported that the Association of People with Achondroplasia and other Skeletal Dysplasias in Spain filed a complaint against the 18-year-old.
Addressing the saga, Rivaldo, who is a legend of the club, said he wants to see the player focus more on his game.
“So, hopefully there won’t be any more rumours, because that’s annoying, it’s sad,” the legendary Brazilian attacking midfielder said, as quoted by Barca Universal.
He went on to add that he just wants to see the youngster shine on the pitch, advising him to reflect on everything he has achieved already as a young player “to avoid this type of situation” in future.
