Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has revealed that Argentina captain Lionel Messi complimented him after their sides clashed in the World Cup Round of 32.
Argentina narrowly defeated the tiny West African island nation 3-2 after extra time in a match played at the Miami Stadium to progress to the Round of 16 stage of the tournament.
Vozinha was highly impressive during the intriguing encounter, making several spectacular saves to keep his team in the game.

Speaking after the match, the shot-stopper revealed that Messi told him he is a great goalkeeper and that the people of Cape Verde should be proud of him.
“I went up to Messi after the game. He hugged me and said, ‘You are great. Your people should be proud of you.’ That was incredible for me,” Vozinha said (via Hindustan Times).
He added: “Hearing words like that from someone like Leo Messi means a lot to me. I thanked him and said, ‘Thank you, Leo. You are the best.’ Then I asked if we could swap shirts. Leo said he would give it to me in the tunnel after the interviews.”
