CAF had earlier hailed Ghana’s Black Stars, despite their elimination by Colombia in the Round of 32 of the tournament.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has praised Morocco and Egypt for booking their places in the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, stating that they are ready for the next stage of the tournament.
The continent’s football governing body made this known on Saturday via a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) page.
The two North African nations ensured that the continent will continue to participate in the 2026 World Cup after qualifying for the last-16 stage.
Morocco eliminated the Netherlands in the Round of 32, while Egypt sent Australia packing from the competition.

They will now face Canada and Argentina, respectively, for a place in the quarter-final stage.
Reacting to the feat, CAF expressed its delight at the qualification of Morocco and Egypt for the last 16.
The continent’s football powerhouse also insisted that both countries are ready for their next opponents.
Posting on its verified handle, CAF wrote: “Africa marches on. Morocco and Egypt are ready for their Round of 16 clashes.”
