Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has argued that the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is no different from those who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this known on Sunday while speaking at a National Convention held by the PDP faction loyal to him.
According to Wike, Obi—who contested for the presidency on the LP platform—abandoned the party when it faced a crisis, instead of helping to fix it.

He went on to say that the behaviour demonstrated by the former Anambra State governor showed he lacks leadership traits.
While addressing participants at the event, he said: “I liken those who defected from the PDP to the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party; they lack leadership traits.”
Wike added: “The former candidate of the Labour Party wanted to be president. The Labour Party gave him the platform, but when a crisis came to the Labour Party, and he was supposed to show leadership, he ran away because he could not solve problems.”
