The image tool was discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android.

With the tap of of a button, WhatsApp will send a photo from within its application to Google.

WhatsApp will now direct users to Google search result pages that show similar or the same images elsewhere on the web.

The information can help users determine if an image is real or has been photoshopped or even learn if the background has been altered or stripped of its original context.
