Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has set tongues wagging online after penning a brief birthday tribute to his longtime partner, manager, and baby mama, Jada Pollock.
On Tuesday, 20 October 2026, the “Ojuelegba” hitmaker took to social media to mark the occasion, posting: “Happy J Day ❤️🦅”
While fans across the world joined in the birthday celebrations, not everyone was satisfied with how Wizkid chose to honour the woman in his life. The gesture stirred up quite a conversation online, leaving many followers divided over whether the superstar’s message was charmingly low-key or unnecessarily brief.
Some netizens felt a high-profile partner and internet personality like Jada deserved a more elaborate public declaration, whilst others argued that the intimacy of a relationship outweighs any social media performance.

An internet user identified as @abazwhyllzz queried the singer’s short message, asking: “Are you ashamed to write your wife’s name in full?”
Another netizen, @it_Rutie, backed up the concern, adding: “Why not write Jada P in full? Lazy boy.”
Also berating the Grammy Award winner, @bigdisa_ brought some humour to the discourse, joking: “Imagine waiting all year for your birthday shoutout and getting a two-word memo. 😭😂”
However, @adisaomobello countered the criticism, stating: “See time wey rich man dey wish him wife. See wetin hin write. One mumu idiot go dey expect make one boy dey lie give the whole world to show say you love am on her birthday. When it should be how you make her feel, not how you make the whole world think you feel about her. Love can be private and simple!!”
Meanwhile, @Divineimah appealed to those enraged on behalf of Jada, noting: “Hin composure no allow am write the full name, make una no vex.”
Wizkid and Jada Pollock share three children: their first son Zion (born in 2017), a second son, and their baby girl named Morayo.
