Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has set tongues wagging on social media after undergoing facial surgery following Brazil’s Round of 16 exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 26-year-old Seleção striker reportedly underwent the procedure, commonly known as “chin harmonisation“, in Goiânia, Brazil.
According to reports, the surgery was carried out by renowned dermatologist Dr Alessandro Alarcão, who travelled from Miami in the United States to perform the treatment.
The cosmetic procedure is designed to improve facial balance and definition through surgical or non-surgical techniques.
Photos of Vinicius later circulated online showing the forward with a better-defined jawline and sharper facial profile.
After pictures of his new look went viral across social media platforms, it elicited mixed reactions from netizens, who trooped to the comments section to react to what some described as a “dramatic transformation”.
However, while some fans praised the new look, others admitted they initially struggled to recognise the Brazilian forward.
An internet user identified as @zause17 said, “Bro looks like Franklin”.
Another netizen, @zhyar, asked, “who thinks he looked better before?”
Meanwhile, @zeal, who appeared indifferent about his new look, added, “I don’t really care about this, I just want him to perform well next season. He looks better ngl”.
