​’We’re not angry enough’ – Falz charges Nigerians ahead of 2027 elections

​Falz noted that a lot of times Nigerians speak “truth to power and point fingers”, but fail to challenge themselves too.

​Human rights activist, actor and singer Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has called on Nigerians to take the upcoming 2027 general elections more seriously.

The ‘Soft Work’ crooner made the demand on Tuesday while appearing on the Arise Television programme Prime Time.

​According to Falz, Nigerians are not angry enough and will need to react more if they want a better country to live in.

​The 35-year-old thespian added that politicians want people to think that their votes do not matter, emphasising that the best way to hold them accountable is at the ballot box.

​He went on to say a lot of times citizens speak “truth to power and point fingers”, but don’t challenge themselves too.

​Speaking during the interview, Falz said, “It looks like a lot of people are listening. I’m hoping that even more people will listen and be encouraged. One thing that we keep on saying is, we’re not enraged enough.

​”We’re not angry enough. We need to react more. A lot of times we speak truth to power and point fingers, but we have to challenge ourselves also.

​”The most important people for this are first-time voters. If our votes didn’t matter, politicians would not be doing everything within their power to try and influence results. If votes didn’t matter, there would not be vote buying.

​”If there is an overwhelming majority of people moving in a certain direction, it will be impossible for them to cheat.”
