Ronaldo was in action as his country edged past the Super Eagles in a match played at the 29,000-capacity Estádio Dr Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, Portugal.

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has confirmed his country’s readiness for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after leading his side to a 2-1 win over the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly on Wednesday night.
He expressed their desire to take on all comers at the tournament in a post he shared on his official Instagram page after the encounter.
Portugal opened the scoring in the match played at the 29,000-capacity Estádio Dr Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, in the 23rd minute, after Pedro Neto found space inside the box and drilled the ball home.
Nigeria then levelled the scores 14 minutes later thanks to a powerful run and finish from Sevilla striker Akor Adams.

With the game looking set to end in a stalemate, Francisco Conceição cut in and curled in a sublime finish to win it for the former European champions.
Reacting to the narrow victory over the three-time African champions, Ronaldo made it known that the preparation for the World Cup “is done”.
The 41-year-old forward went on to add that he and his teammates will now fully focus on the tournament proper.
Sharing a picture of himself in action for Portugal against the Super Eagles, the Al-Nassr star wrote: “The preparation is done. Eyes on the World Cup.”
Portugal, who earlier played South American side Chile in another friendly match, will face Colombia, debutants Uzbekistan, and DR Congo in Group K of the tournament.
