Manchester City midfielder Rodri has said the club’s titles and achievements over the years cannot be taken away because they were genuinely earned by everyone at the club.
He was reacting to reports that City have been found guilty of all but one of their 115 charges by an independent panel.
Although penalties have not been announced, the verdict could see the blue half of Manchester face huge points deductions, financial penalties, and even relegation.
Reacting to the verdict reached by the independent panel, Rodri insisted that the Premier League club earned their silverware through “effort and partnership”.
While noting that the success was well deserved, the Spanish international urged the Premier League authorities not to strip the club of their trophies.

He said: “When you live daily in that club and see all the people who worked hard all these years to achieve all the success we have had—not only Pep [Guardiola] and the players, but from the owners to the staff who work daily—what we did, they cannot take away from us.”
Rodri added: “It is not something that is bought with money; it is paid for with effort and partnership, being shoulder to shoulder every day.
“We had a lot of success over the years, and I can tell you that everything was deserved. I am glad I got to experience one of the best eras in English football.”
