Abuja-based TikTok content creator Monica Oma Owuunaka, popularly known as Monique Pearls, has passed away at the age of 30.
Her death was announced on Thursday by her family via her official Instagram account under the handle @monicstar.
Monique Pearls, who hailed from Cross River State, was widely known for her emotional and relatable content on motherhood, family life and caregiving.
Her videos also featured a young girl identified as Precious, whom her family reportedly brought from the village.
The bond between Monique and Precious became one of the major themes of her online storytelling, drawing reactions from many followers who admired her family-centred content.
She also built a strong audience on TikTok by sharing real-life experiences around parenting, domestic life and modern Nigerian family relationships.

The statement released by her family described the deceased as a wife, daughter, mother, sister and friend, while also noting that she had a warm and caring nature that had an effect on many people who knew her.
The post reads: “It is with deep pain and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Monica Oma Owuunaka.
“Monica was a beautiful soul whose love, kindness, strength, and presence touched so many lives. She brought warmth, joy, and light to everyone around her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
“Words cannot fully express the depth of this loss or the pain of saying goodbye so suddenly. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she shared and the impact she made will never be forgotten.
“During this difficult time, we kindly ask for prayers, love, and strength for the family and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.”
Monique Pearls is survived by her husband and young son, Lael.
