Barbadian singer, songwriter and actress Robyn Rihanna Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna, has blamed voter apathy in the United States 2024 presidential election for President Donald Trump’s second-term victory.

The ‘I Love You’ hitmaker made this known on 27 October 2026, in the Instagram comments section of a post shared by the media outlet Hollywood Unlocked.

Trump won his second term against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in 2024 after losing his initial re-election bid to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in 2020.

However, in an earlier viral video of an interview featuring political commentator Joy Reid and journalist Charles M. Blow shared by Hollywood Unlocked, Reid argued that Americans “got their just desserts” and deserved the financial controversies and economic impacts of the administration because they voted Trump back into power.

Reacting to a viral clip of the interview, Rihanna, rather than blaming voters who participated, explicitly blamed non-voters—those who abstained from casting a ballot in the 2024 presidential election.

According to the singer, those who did not vote at all are to be blamed for Trump’s second-term victory and the economic hardship brought by his administration.

”Believe it or not, those who didn’t vote at all also did this!”, she stated.
