Ondo Govt trains water officers on modern testing kits to ensure safe and potable water supply

As part of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s unwavering commitment to ensuring access to clean and safe water across Ondo State, the Ministry of Water Resources, Public Sanitation, and Hygiene has organized a specialized training for its officers on the effective use of water testing kits, including Palintest devices and 6-in-1 pool test strips.
Th Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation, and Hygiene, Elder Ayodele Samson Akande declared open at the State water corporation laboratory in Akure, the state capital.
In a statement signed by the Head, Media and Publicity Unit of the Ministry, Oluwakemi Adedeji-Adeyemi stated that the training aimed at enhancing water quality monitoring and surveillance, identify contaminated water sources,making informed decisions on drinking water safety, monitoring of the effectiveness of water treatment systems, and ultimately reducing waterborne diseases.
The commissioner who was represented by Mrs. Victoria Adetoye, Administrative Secretary of the Ministry, expressed gratitude to the Governor for providing the water testing kits to ensure safe and potable water supply in the state.
He noted that the equipment would help to monitor drinking water quality and reduce waterborne diseases in the state.
Earlier in his address, the Facilitator and Consultant on water testing equipment Mr. Peter along with his team, explained that the kits test for pH, turbidity, bacteria, and nitrate, enabling users to identify contaminated water sources and make informed decisions about their drinking water.
The training was attended by top management staff from the water sector in the ministry, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring access to safe drinking water for all.
