Oke-Ode: Kwara Police boss allays fear of travelling, residence

Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Adekimi Ojo, has allayed fear about traveling to or living in Oke-Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state where some 12 people were killed recently by bandits.
Ojo allayed the fear just as he disclosed that five people had been arrested in connection with killings.
The Oke-Ode community had to some other extent deserted by the residents and avoided by the travellers due to the violent attack by the bandits.
The attack on the community followed a number of attacks on surrounding communities making that axis to suffer concentration of attacks by bandits who kill and kidnap people.
After the attack on Oke-Ode many residents fleed the community to Ilorin, the state capital and some other areas while the state college of nursing in the town relocated to Ilorin where its students are now receiving lectures temporarily.

But, the police commissioner while speaking with newsmen said security measure taken by the government and security agencies had greatly improved security in the area.
He said when the market was held on the last market day in Oke-Ode people had no problem in coming out for their commercial activities because security was well fortified in the area.
He assured that security agencies would not relent in their efforts to make normalcy fully restored in the community.
The police boss gave the names of the suspects arrested in connection with the killing to be Umar Babuga, Mohammed Ahmed, Aliyu Buba Alade, Sidi Buba Alade, and Sheu Buba Alade.
He said that the suspects were arrested by operatives from his command and that they are currently in custody where they are undergoing investigation.
