Spain midfielder, Rodri, has justified his decision to move to La Liga giants Barcelona rather than their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, saying he has always desired to play for the former.
He made this known on Monday while addressing journalists at the airport after arriving in Spain to complete the deal.
Rodri had been heavily linked with Real Madrid and even spoke with senior officials from Los Blancos on the possibility of joining the club.

However, the 30-year-old will now play for their biggest La Liga rivals after flying into Barcelona on Monday to finalise his £65.4m move from Manchester City.
While the summer transfer saga was ongoing, a lot of pundits attributed the Spanish captain’s preference to move to Camp Nou to the fact that he once played for Real Madrid’s city rivals, Atlético Madrid.
Clarifying the assertion, Rodri said: “I’m happy to be here; it’s been a few intense days, and I’m thrilled to be here.
“Playing for Barcelona is a dream. We’re going for the Champions League and everything else that comes our way.”
