Former BBA star Bayo Adetomiwa Okoh dies

Bayo spent 91 days in the BBA house during the 2003 edition and became the sixth contestant evicted during the inaugural season.

​Former Big Brother Africa (BBA) housemate, Bayo Adetomiwa Okoh, simply known as Bayo, has passed away.

​His death was confirmed on Saturday, 8 August, by media personality Matilda Duncan in a post shared on her verified handle.

​Announcing his demise, the influencer expressed grief and exasperation at the frequency with which the entertainment world has been losing its own.

​Duncan, however, did not reveal the circumstances surrounding the death of the reality TV star.

​Sharing Bayo’s picture, she wrote: “Please God, what is happening? This is too much. One death after another. I am so sorry. This part called death. It’s the worst.”

​His death is the latest in the entertainment industry this week following the tragic passing of actress Temitope Osoba and Nollywood director Dimbo Atiya.

​Bayo carved out a place in television history as one of the housemates on the inaugural season of Big Brother Africa, which aired in 2003.

​He was among the faces who helped define that milestone chapter in African pop culture.
