Federal High Court begins annual vacation July 27, list Judges to entertain urgent matters

The Federal High Court of Nigeria shall commence its annual vacation from Monday July 27, 2026 and ends on Friday September 11, 2026.
This was made known to the general public, litigants and stakeholders in the Judiciary sector through a press release signed by Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher
Director Information, Federal High Court of Nigeria, following the approval for the vacation by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honourable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho OFR KSS FCIArb,
pursuant to Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.
During the vacation, only urgent matters such as fundamental rights and admiralty cases involving Vessels will be entertained by designated vacation Judges in four Judicial divisions of Abuja, Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Enugu.
The release titled ‘Announcement Of The Federal High Court 2026 Annual Vacation And Designation Of Vacation Judges’ reads:
“Pursuant to Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, KSS, OFR, FCIArb. (UK), has officially approved and announced the Court’s Annual Vacation for the year 2026, together with the roster of Judges designated to sit during the vacation period.
“The Annual Vacation is scheduled to commence on Monday, 27th July 2026, and end on Friday, 11th September 2026.
“During the vacation period, the Court will continue to provide judicial services in urgent matters through designated Vacation Courts. Accordingly, the Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu Judicial Divisions will remain operational to entertain cases requiring immediate judicial attention.
“Members of the public and legal practitioners are advised to file and prosecute urgent matters only at the designated Vacation Courts closest to them.
“The designated Vacation Judges are as follows:
