The founder of Kano Pillars Football Club and former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) — now the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) — Ibrahim Galadima, has passed away.
His death was announced via a statement issued by the Kano Pillars Media and Communication Directorate.
According to the club, the former football administrator died on Saturday following a prolonged illness.

The statement added that Galadima “served as NFA Chairman between 2002 and 2006, during which he made notable contributions to the growth and international representation of Nigerian football.
“He also distinguished himself as Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, where he played a vital role in promoting sports development at both grassroots and elite levels.
“As a founding father of Kano Pillars FC, Galadima laid the foundation for the club’s rise as a dominant force in Nigerian football. His leadership and passion for the game remain part of the club’s rich legacy.”
It further noted that his funeral prayer is scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 am at Masallacin Waje, Fagge Local Government Area, Kano State.
The club prayed that Almighty Allah would grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
Confirming the demise, former NFF General Secretary Sani Toro disclosed that Galadima passed away in Kano.
“I regret to announce the death of our respected Alh Ibrahim Galadima, former NFA Chairman, today in Kano. May Allah reward him with Aljanna Firdausi,” he wrote.
