Popular sports journalist and radio presenter Temisan Okomi has passed away after a brief illness.
His death was confirmed on Friday by a colleague at News Central, Olawale Adigun, in a post shared on his X page.
Announcing the sad news, he wrote: “The worst way to go into the weekend is hearing about Temisan Okomi’s passing. I’m so gutted and, at the same time, terrified. This man meant so much to me.”

He later added that Okomi was on air as recently as Tuesday.
“Brief illness. Was on the air on Tuesday.”
Reacting to the news of his demise, another sports broadcaster, Joy Ojeabulu, stated in her tribute: “I have so much to say, but all I know is you lived, impacted lives, and were so respectful of all—both old and especially young. You will be remembered as the legendary man you are, Uncle Temisan.”
As the news made the rounds, it elicited reactions from other colleagues and sports fans, who expressed shock and grief.
