Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated unequivocally that his team are aiming to defeat Manchester City when they meet on Sunday, saying: “We don’t want a draw.”
He made this known ahead of the consequential league encounter between the two top teams in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium.
Arteta’s men go into the clash sitting six points clear at the top, but having played one more fixture than the Citizens.

A win for Arsenal will open a bigger gap ahead of the remaining five fixtures. However, a loss brings Pep Guardiola’s side right back into contention.
While analysing the eagerly anticipated match, Arteta insisted they will not be “parking the bus” against City, even though a draw would leave the title race firmly in their hands.
He said: “We want to win the game. We are there to win the game. We haven’t talked about that [a draw]. We need to win the game.
“And we are preparing to win the game. There will be no difference to any stadium we have been to in the last five years. There’s no change there.”
