Ahead of the brand-new Premier League season, British commentator and former Chelsea star Chris Sutton has predicted the outcomes of the opening weekend’s fixtures.
The 53-year-old pundit offered his predictions for all 10 opening fixtures while analyzing the 20 teams on BBC Sport.
Discussing Arsenal’s curtain-raiser against newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night, Sutton predicted the reigning league champions will thump the visitors 3-0.
Moving to Saturday’s games, the former Blues striker tipped Manchester United to secure a narrow 2-1 away victory over Hull City, while predicting Brentford will hold Tottenham Hotspur to a 1-1 draw.

Sutton also backed Manchester City to defeat Bournemouth 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium, while forecasting a 3-1 away win for Liverpool against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
Looking ahead to the Monday night West London derby between his former club, Chelsea, and Fulham at Craven Cottage, he tipped Xabi Alonso’s side to secure a 2-0 victory.
