Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori sustained injuries during the Gunners’ narrow 1-0 league win over West Ham on Sunday.
He confirmed the double injury blow during his post-match interview following the highly consequential match.
Leandro Trossard’s 82nd-minute goal, following an assist from Martin Odegaard, ensured Arsenal picked up three points and stayed on course for their first league trophy in 22 years.
The result keeps the North London club five points clear of their nearest rivals, Manchester City, but the victory came at a cost.
Ben White was taken off with a knee injury in the first half after a knock and was replaced by Martin Zubimendi.

After the break, Riccardo Calafiori did not reappear with the rest of the team and was replaced by Cristhian Mosquera.
Speaking after the encounter, the Spanish tactician said the extent of White’s injury will be determined after further tests.
When asked for an update on the English right-back’s condition, Arteta said: “We don’t know [the severity] but it doesn’t look good at all.
“He needs some further testing, probably tomorrow, and then I will know a bit more.”
He also told the press that Calafiori failed to rejoin the action after half-time because he had picked up an injury during the opening period.
