Yesufu also attributed Buhari’s defeat of Jonathan in the election to the latter’s disappointing performance prior to the poll.

Human rights activist, politician, and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has said her choice of presidential candidate in the 2015 election was influenced by the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to field Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as its vice-presidential candidate.
The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain made this known while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the KaaTruths podcast.
According to Yesufu, she didn’t vote for the APC because of her belief or trust in former president Muhammadu Buhari, adding, “I don’t regret it”.

She further clarified that her decision was based on reports that Buhari would delegate key responsibilities, particularly the management of the country’s economy, to Osinbajo’s office.
Speaking during the interview, Yesufu said: “I don’t regret voting for Buhari. This is the thing: if I’m to regret voting for Buhari, it will be like this disaster we have now; we should allow it because the next person will be worse.
“It was Jonathan that made Buhari acceptable to the people. We had someone who had done so badly, and by 2015, we voted for the APC. I didn’t vote for that ticket for Buhari, but because of Pastor Yemi Osinbajo.
“If you ask me why, I will say because Buhari is known to delegate his duties. When he was a military head of state, it was Tunde Idiagbon who was in charge. They said Osinbajo was going to be in charge of the economy.”
