Real Madrid manager José Mourinho suffered his first defeat on Friday night at the Estadio de La Cartuja after Real Betis stunned the La Liga giants.
Los Blancos came into the encounter with a perfect record, having won their opening three league fixtures.
Mourinho’s men started with a narrow 2-1 victory against Espanyol before thumping Real Sociedad and Málaga 4-1 and 4-0 respectively.

However, in the fixture against Real Betis, they struggled to break down their hosts for most of the game and ended up losing by a narrow 1-0 margin.
Betis took the lead in the 81st minute through Troy Parrott, who reacted quickest to a rebound after Thibaut Courtois parried a header from a corner.
Real Madrid had the chance to leave with a point after being awarded a late penalty for a foul on Vinícius Júnior, but Kylian Mbappé saw his effort palmed away by Álvaro Valles.
Betis then held on to maintain their record of not losing to the visitors on their home ground since 2021.
