English pundit and Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has stated that Liverpool’s talisman, Mohamed Salah, did not offer the needed support to his teammate, Conor Bradley, during his team’s loss to Manchester City.
He made this known while featuring as a guest on BBC’s Match of the Day after City defeated the Reds 3-0 at the Etihad on Sunday.
Salah failed to register a goal or an assist against the host and struggled for form throughout the crucial encounter.
While analysing the performance of the Egyptian winger, Rooney noted that he did not help at the back and left Bradley isolated down the right.
“Salah is in the team to score goals and create goals,” the former Red Devils star said.

Rooney added, “In big games, you have to double up. I think Salah has to come back and help his teammate.”
Later in the game, Van Dijk saw a goal which would’ve seen Liverpool pull level when they were 1-0 down ruled out.
Speaking on the controversial decision, Rooney said it shouldn’t have been ruled out for offside.
“It’s a really good header, and the goal should have stood for me,” he said.
