Wike’s aide, Olayinka challenges Gov Makinde to address FCT minister directly

Olayinka was reacting to a recent comment by Makinde that he would not allow himself to be reduced to “gutter level”.

Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde to be brave enough and address his boss directly, whenever he has an axe to grind with him.

He threw the challenge at the governor in a recent post he shared on his X page.

Makinde, while speaking after the Southwest zoning consultative summit of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, said he would not allow himself to be reduced to “gutter level”.

Addressing the controversy surrounding the issue of PDP zoning, the governor insisted that the party is not dead.

Reacting to Wike’s call for the removal of  South-South zonal chairman, Dan Orbih, the Oyo governor said: “Personally, when people go low, or they go into the gutters, I don’t go with them.”

He further noted that PDP’s National Executive Council (NEC) will decide on the party’s zoning and other issues during its meeting on Monday.

While responding to his comments, Olayinka challenged Makinde to show courage and address the Minister directly on issues.

Speaking via his verified social media handle, he wrote, “The brave must never give his ears to the murmuring of the coward until he grows enough balls to be able to speak directly.”
