Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) 2023 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has disagreed with call for another nationwide lockdown in the country by former Chief of Army Staff, Yusuf Tukur Buratai.
He slammed the ex-Army Chief in a recent post he shared on his official Facebook page.
Buratai had while featuring as a guest on a Channels’ Television programme, stressed the need for a nationwide lockdown as a strategy to decisively tackle banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in Nigeria.

Reacting to the proposition. Sowore blasted him, saying Buratai’s only achievement during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown was the “bloody #EndSARS Massacre”.
He went on to knock Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa for urging Nigerians to learn combat kills amid ravaging security crisis.
Speaking via his verified social media handle, the activist wrote, “Today, this same man is shamelessly calling for another COVID-style lockdown, while the current Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, absurdly proposes “Kung-fu self-defense” as a solution to insecurity.
“This is the calibre of airheads who have ruined Nigeria, men who respond to real crises with outright nonsense”.
