Athletic Bilbao sporting director and former Spanish defender, Rafael Alkorta, has advised Real Madrid striker, Vinicius Jr, to handle his contract talks with the club’s president, Florentino Perez with decorum.
He counseled the striker recently while speaking with Madrid Universal.
According to him, if care is not taken, the Brazil international.could end up like club legend, Sergio Ramos, who had his contract offer pulled back in 2023 despite making a name at Santiago Bernabeu.
He also noted that Vinicius is no longer the player he used to be since former manager, Carlo Ancelotti changed his position from left wing to central role to accommodate Kylian Mbappe.

Alkorta, who played for Real Madrid in the past, further said that the 25-year-old is playing a dangerous game with his contract negotiations.
He said, “Trying to squeeze Florentino Perez can go wrong. Let’s remember what happened with Ramos.”
He added that fighting over negotiations with Perez is ‘poisonous.’
“These fights are poisonous. Florentino is affectionate, but he does not hesitate to make tough decisions.
“Since they took him off the left wing, I haven’t seen him well. Playing with Mbappe has cost him,” Alkorta further said.
