Banyana Banyana midfielder, Gabriela Salgado has declared that South Africa are mentally and physically ready for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations’  semi-final clash against Nigeria.

She made this known ahead of Tuesday’s encounter billed for the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca, Morocco.

Salgado, however, admitted that facing Nigeria will be a tough challenge for the defending champions.

She further noted that it is important for her team to psyche themselves up for the task ahead.

“We know we’re going into the semifinal game, it’s going to be a challenge, but we are physically and mentally prepared,” Salgado said.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, while speaking with CAFonline on Monday said, “These are the kind of games we want to play. Getting to the semifinal shows the effort the team put into every game. We try to improve ourselves in each match.”

The winner of this encounter will face either hosts, Morocco or Ghana in the final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Saturday.

South Africa have won the WAFCON title once in their history, while Nigeria have been champions nine times.
