U.S. federal lawmaker, Riley Moore (R-WV), who represents West Virginia’s 2nd congressional district in the House of Representatives, has claimed seven thousand Christians in Nigeria were killed by Islamic extremists this year.
He made the claim on Tuesday night on X, while thanking Trinidadian rapper, Nicki Minaj, for speaking up on the subject at the United Nations (UN).
Prior to this, Moore had used the same medium to claim the abduction of 25 school girls and the killing of their vice principal in Kebbi State, Nigeria, happened in a “Christian enclave” of the Northern part of the country.

Taking to his verified social media handle, the Republican lawmaker wrote: “Please join me in praying for the 25 girls who have been kidnapped and for the repose of the soul of their vice principal who was killed.
“While we don’t have all the details on this horrific attack, we know that the attack occurred in a Christian enclave in Northern Nigeria.”
However, in the new post on X, Moore, after appreciating Nicki Minaj for her speech at the UN, added that something must be done to save Nigerian Christians.
He wrote, “I want to personally thank @NICKIMINAJ for using her platform to elevate the issue of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
“7,000 Christians have been murdered this year alone. We must do everything in our power to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ”.
