Ugboma community commends World Bank, EU over SEEFOR project

The people of Ugboba community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State have commended the World Bank and European Union (EU) over the SEEFOR Project, which they assisted.
They said that their intervention was aimed at alleviating the plight of the people.
The traditional ruler of Ugboba community, Emmanuel Nkebakwu III; the President-General of Ugboba Community Development Association, Mr Nnabuife Afam; the Chairman of the Project Management Committee, Chief Kpomiose Basil, and the Treasurer of the committee, Isioma Abojei, gave the commendation in the community during a project launch.
Obi Emmanuel Nkebakwu and the president-general said that the multi-purpose hall project being built in the community would impact positively on their people, adding that it would serve as a veritable platform for meetings, conferences and marriage receptions.
While appreciating Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his efforts at developing the state especially through the partnership with international donor agencies, the monarch who appealed for sustenance, said that the initiative was in tandem with the prosperity mantra of the governor’s administration.
In her remarks, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Rev. Omatsola Williams, represented by the Director of Community Development in the ministry, Mrs. Ireyefoju Juliana, urged the community to utilize the funds judiciously and lauded Senator Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration for providing enabling environment for the project to succeed.
On his part, the Project Coordinator of the SEEFOR Project, Mr Benson Ojoko, who was represented by the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mrs Obverejor Atinor, stated that SEEFOR Project was geared towards enhancing the overall well-being of the people, noting that it was being funded by the World Bank and European Union in collaboration with the Delta State government.
Ojoko enjoined the community to work as a team and in accordance with the laid down specifications as well as strive to shun any act capable of impacting negatively on the speedy delivery of the project.
In a related development, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Rev Omatsola Williams; and the Project Coordinator of the SEEFOR Project, Mr Benson Ojoko, had launched the execution of the Onicha-Olona Electricity Extension Project in Aniocha North Local Government Area of state.
The duo described electricity as a critical instrument of socio-economic growth and development.
