Two suspects arrested by police over alleged killing of female bank manager, search continues for other gang members

Two suspects have been arrested by police over their allegedly involvement in the kidnap and murder of a female bank manager in Onitsha after collecting N14 million ransom from her family.

Anambra Police Command spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed that Monday Egbe, 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, 28, were nabbed on May 28 after investigation led officers to their hideout in a neighbouring state.

The lifeless body of the victim was found on January 13 along Nnobi Road with her eyes blind-folded after the abductors collected the ransom.

Ikenga said the suspects are undergoing interrogation to unravel the modus operandi of the criminal gang and arrest other members.

Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu assured that the command will continue to protect lives and properties, follow up on cases, and ensure justice is served.
