Tunji-Ojo orders urgent fix for glitches in paramilitary recruitment portal

By Jeffrey Agbo

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has issued a directive to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to swiftly resolve the ongoing technical issues affecting the recruitment portal for Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies.

This follows rising frustration among applicants who have been unable to confirm the status of their submissions or monitor progress weeks after completing various stages of the recruitment process.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, the Minister acknowledged the portal’s challenges and attributed them to delays in uploading applicant data.

He stated: “Following recent complaints from applicants into the paramilitary agencies who are still unable to determine their fate due to the ongoing upload of information, I have directed the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board to ensure that all uploads are completed immediately.”

The CDCFIB had announced on Thursday that candidates could start checking their application status from Friday. However, many users reported persistent glitches and poor response from the recruitment platform.

Some applicants said the portal froze after entering their login details, while others complained that their dashboards displayed job categories different from the ones they had selected. Several also lamented that their names were missing entirely from the system.

According to official data, about 1.9 million Nigerians applied for approximately 30,000 available positions across the four paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
