Speaking after the match, Steffen said he was unhappy with Boniface’s display, saying was “just too everywhere”.

He said, “I felt he was too ‘everywhere. It’s fine for him to be more central. It wasn’t the way I wanted it.”

He, however, added that the Nigerian was not the only one to blame, adding that his entire team lacked the needed defensive discipline.

“It wasn’t just him, but a lot of players weren’t staying in their spaces. We have to be positionally consistent so that we can overload the attack every now and then. That’s an issue I’ll address.” he further said.

Steffen went on to say Boniface must be patient as his teammates adapt to his style of play.
