Spain won their second World Cup on Sunday after Ferran Torres smashed home a knockdown from Nico Williams in extra time.

Spanish players on Sunday walked away with several individual awards at the just-concluded 2026 World Cup tournament.
The tournament ended on Sunday night, with La Roja defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 in what was a one-sided affair.
Spain dominated all aspects of the encounter but needed a goal in the second half of extra time to secure a deserved victory.
Ferran Torres smashed home a knockdown from Nico Williams to seal the win for the reigning European champions.
It is Spain’s second world title, after they won the 2010 edition hosted by South Africa—the only time the tournament has been held on the African continent.

Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri won the Golden Ball award after being named the best player of the tournament, while his compatriot Unai Simón, who was named the best goalkeeper, took home the Golden Glove award.
The Best Young Player award went to Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí, while the Spanish team claimed the Fair Play award.
However, Real Madrid and France striker Kylian Mbappé denied Spain a clean sweep by winning the Golden Boot award, having scored the highest number of goals at the tournament.
