Ship owners  hail creation of Marine Ministry, congratulates Ministers

The Nigeria Ship owners Association (NISA) has expressed satisfaction over the creation of a ministry to oversee the affairs of maritime activities in Nigeria.

They applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and bold initiative  in the establishment of  Marine and Blue Economy Ministry.

NISA said this significant step underscores government’s commitment to harnessing the immense potential of our maritime resources and promoting sustainable economic growth.

According to a statement on Sunday ,signed by the President  of NISA, Otunba Sola Adewumi and Executive Secretary, Otunba Jubril Rowaye , the foremost ship owners group applauded the federal government for the initiative to separate Transportation Ministry  from core marine operations.

The NISA top executives further promised to work closely with both His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola as the Minister of Transportation and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo as counterparts from Marine and Blue Economy as part of efforts to promote maritime trade.

The statement while congratulating the duo on their respective port folio explained that “the Nigeria Shipowners Association proudly commends the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his appointment of His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola as the Minister of Transportation and Olubunmi Tunji Ojo as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

“The transportation sector plays a pivotal role in Nigeria’s economy, offering vast opportunities for movement of commuters and goods, export and import and  job creation.

“We are confident that both of them will bring his wealth of experience as  seasoned administrators to rejuvenate the ministries in line with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the Federal government.

“His Excellency appointment aligns perfectly with our association’s mission to advance the interests of shipowners and promote a robust transportation industry.

“We are excited to collaborate with the Hon Ministers to drive a sustainable practices, technological advancements, and strategic partnerships that will elevate Nigeria’s standing on the global transportation stage.

“As stakeholders in the marine transportation sector, we pledge our full support and commitment to working hand in hand with the government to ensure the success of the ministries.
