The Federal Government (FG) has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebrations.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday on Tuesday in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
According to him,, the holidays are to ccommemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday, key events in the Christian faith.
The minister extended warm greetings to Christians across the country, urging them to reflect on the virtues of love and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The FG through him, “also called on Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of the nation.”
He went on to “reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to foster national growth and development.”
Tunji-Ojo further urged citizens to show love and compassion to one another through acts of kindness and generosity.
He wished Christians a joyful Easter and extended holiday greetings to all Nigerians. .
