The flight which arrived around 5am, was delayed because of a sick pilot, according to the Daily Mail.

The Duchess of Sussex had flown into Heathrow yesterday to meet up with her husband at the airport’s VIP Windsor Suite.

This is the first time Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria together.

Prior to this development, TheNiche had reported that Prince Harry and his wife are visiting on the invitation of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa and that their meeting will dwell mainly on the Invictus Games Harry founded in 2014 for wounded soldiers.

Speaking on the visit, the Director of Sports at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Marquis, said Harry will spend three days in Nigeria and will interact with wounded soldiers and their families.

According to him, the visit is expected to boost the morale of wounded soldiers in their recovery efforts.

“Because we realised that 80 per cent of our soldiers have been involved in this recovery programme, they are getting better. Their outlook on life is positive. You know, when you are engaged in, you experience a permanent disability. Some issues affect the mental health and outlook to life,” Marquis explained

Meanwhile, during the visit, Meghan is also expected to “dig deeper” into her discovery through DNA that she is “43 per cent Nigerian” as she disclosed previously.

In the build up to the visit, Nigerians – ever hospitable – are already hoisting a banner for her on social media, calling her “our sister”.
