Opeyemi Aiyeola reveals she blocked Nollywood colleagues to protect her marriage

Nollywood actress, Opeyemi Aiyeola, has justified her decision to block her colleagues after marriage, saying she did so for fear of divorce.

She made this known during her recent appearance on Oyinmomo TV.

The thespian, who disappeared from the scene for over a decade, relocated to America after she walked down the aisle with her husband, Olayiwola Abdulwakilu.

While apologizing to her fans for disappearing, the mother of two noted that she holds her marriage in high esteem.

Aiyeola, however, added that she unblocked her colleagues ten years later
after she returned to focus on her career.

Speaking during the interview, she said, “I was off the scene for more than ten years, and I apologised to my fans. I held my marriage in high esteem, so I blocked everybody’s contact in the industry.

“Let’s appreciate our lovers because they caused it. Some of them will say practitioners don’t have stable homes or lives, but they don’t know what happens behind those relationships. So, because I didn’t want my own to be like that, I blocked everyone from the industry for 10 years.

“I unblocked everybody when I finally returned to focus on my career. I have two boys, and I have sacrificed everything for them. They should now allow me to also carve my own career.”
