England Under-21 national team on Saturday night defended their European title with a thrilling extra-time win over Germany.
Arsenal striker, Ethan Nwaneri was an extra-time substitute for the Young Lions as they defeated Germany 3-2 to retain the European Under-21 Championship trophy.
Harvey Elliott and Omari Hutchinson scored in the 5th and 24th minutes respectively to give England a 2-0 lead in the exciting encounter.
Hutchinson, Elliot and James McAtee were also denied by Noah Atubolu, while Jay Stansfield missed a tap in at the far post as England threatened to run riot.
However, Nelson Weiper’s towering header made it 2-1 to Gemany in first-half injury time.
Paul Nebel then levelled on 61 minutes to send the game to extra-time in Slovakia.
Ethan was introduced for James McAtee at the start of extra-time, as Jonathan Rowe headed in Tyler Morton’s cross two minutes later to hand Lee Carsley’s side back-to-back Euro U21 titles.
