Non-oil exports fetched $3.225 billion for the treasury in the first half of the year (H1 2025), a 19.59 per cent rise year-on-year (YoY) over $2.696 billion in H1 2024, according to the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
NEPC Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) Nonye Ayeni disclosed this in Abuja while presenting the First Half-Year Progress Report on Nigeria’s non-oil export performance.
She said shipment volume also rose to 4.04 million metric tonnes from 3.83 million metric tonnes in H1 2024, driven by strong global demand for Nigerian products from emerging markets such as India, Brazil, Vietnam, and African countries.
According to Ayeni, the report offers a comprehensive overview of achievements, challenges, and prospects of the NEPC as the year draws to a close.
“I am pleased to inform you that non-oil products exported in the first half of 2025 were valued at $3.225 billion. This shows an increase of 19.59 per cent as against the sum of $2.696 billion recorded for the first half of the year 2024,” she reiterated.
The growth in export value was matched by a rise in shipment volume, she added, noting that in the first quarter (Q1 2025) alone, non-oil exports were valued at $1.791 billion, a 24.75 per cent rise over $1.436 billion in Q1 2024.
Export volume in Q1 2025 increased to 2.416 million metric tonnes, up 24.3 per cent from 1.937 million metric tonnes in Q1 2024.
