NGE publicity secretary’s mother Nneoma Rosaline Ekenma Kalu to be buried August 28
The Social and Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Guild of Editors(NGE) Charles Kalu who is also the General Manager of a private owned radio station in Abuja, Peoples 105.5fm has announced dates for the funeral of their mother and matriarch, Mrs Rosaline Ekenma Kalu who passed on peacefully on the 22nd of May,2026 at the age of 85.
A formal public announcement on behalf of the family said they will pay their final respects to their matriarch on Friday, August 28, 2026, while the Christian Service of songs will take place on Thursday, 27th of August,2026.
According to the statement, Mrs. Rosaline Ekenma Kalu is a revered community leader and a devout Christian whose life was defined by faith, sacrifice and service to humanity.
Late Nneoma Rosaline Kalu, who passed away peacefully at the age of 85, will be laid to rest at her residence, Ndia Kalu Compound, 102 Ezera Road, Asaga Ohafia, following funeral rites and interment ceremonies organised by her family.
The statement signed by her son, Mr. Charles O. Kalu, on behalf of the family, described the late Mrs. Kalu as a woman of immense courage and unwavering faith who dedicated her life to God, her family and the development of her community.
Widely known as “Mma Rosa,” she earned admiration and recognition for her outstanding contributions to the Women’s Guild of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, particularly in Ohafia, where she received several awards for her devotion and commitment to Christian service.
Beyond her church activities, she was celebrated as a prominent women’s leader who mentored younger generations and touched countless lives through her kindness, compassion and selfless sacrifices.
Her passing has drawn tributes from family members and community leaders who remember her as a symbol of resilience, perseverance and unconditional love.
The family said her enduring values and exemplary lifestyle would continue to inspire her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all those whose lives she impacted.
A reception for mourners and guests will be held immediately after the interment at the Coronata Primary School Field, Amuke Road, Asaga Ohafia.
As the people of Ohafia prepare to commit her remains to Mother Earth, they do so in celebration of a life well lived—a life marked by faith, service and an enduring legacy of love.
The family expressed gratitude for the prayers, support and goodwill received from friends and well-wishers, praying that the gentle soul of Mrs. Rosaline Ekenma Kalu rests in perfect peace.
