President of the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has announced that the vacant position of the federation’s technical director would soon be filled.

The position became vacant following the expiration of the tenure of Bitrus Bewarang, who in the 1990s, was one of the coaches, who worked under Clemens Westerhof.

But speculations are however rife that EmmanuelAmuneke, an emeritus of the famous class of 1994 of the Super Eagles, may be the chosen one.

Amuneke led the Golden Eaglets to their record-extending fifth win of the FIFA Under 17 World Cup and some of his players then are now making waves in the Super Eagles.

The two prominent ones, who played under Amuneke are Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.

But the issue of the technical director is not yet settled as Amaju Pinnick, in one of his tweets on Wednesday evening, indicated that extensive consultations were still ongoing.

He also disclosed that the Super Falcons’ coach will be announced as soon as Phillips Consulting finished the recruitment process.

He pointed out that what applied to the Super Falcons’ coach “also applies to coaches for the different cadres of our national teams.
